Administrative Assistant

Summary

This position will be responsible for administrative support to a department or individual. Duties may include, correspondence, filing, printing/preparing documents, shipping/mailing, managing schedules, coordinating meetings, running errands, greeting visitors, and assisting with the team’s efforts as needed.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience preferred.
  • Bachelors Degree preferred.

Jamison Properties, Inc. is the third largest landholder in the City of Los Angeles with over 3 billion dollars invested.

We have projects of many building types and look for properties that are underutilized with the potential of value enhancement. Some projects are new construction from the ground up and can be high rise housing or office space. Other projects are the modification and addition of existing buildings to maximize FAR and may convert to new functions such as condominium housing or rental apartments. Many of these are in more urban settings and can be classified as infill projects that help complete and reinforce the urban fabric. Other projects may keep the existing functions, and upgrade and refresh the building to add value to the neighborhood and property.

We are looking for architectural designers that want to design and help staff architects in a studio setting and get projects built. They will do studies of potential uses, massing and parking within the city’s guidelines for various properties around Los Angeles. Other projects are in more advanced stages of development and the designer will be involved with design issues such as space planning, housing unit design, remodeling, curtain wall design, and the selection of materials and colors.

The company seeks to hire an experienced architect to join a growing team currently working on several projects in Los Angeles. The position will entail analysis of urban infill and residential conversion sites, creation of conceptual designs and detailed renderings, and coordination of outside architects, engineers, and other consultants during subsequent phases of design.  Ability to peer review other project architects designs and suggest areas of improvement.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience as architect. Licensed architect in California (preferred).
  • Advanced skills in design and renderings, site analysis, and construction administration.
  • Capable of analyzing potential acquisition sites and developing concepts for multifamily/mixed-use developments.

This position is for a Superintendent for our Wood Frame Multifamily Development Division in Los Angeles. The right candidate will have experience with podium/wood frame multifamily, urban infill, development projects in excess of $20 million dollars in construction costs and will have a demonstrable track record delivering projects on time and on budget. Candidates must have the ability to coordinate several major activities at once, while analyzing and resolving specific problems. Must be flexible and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Primary responsibilities include

  • Responsible of overall supervision of all field related activities
  • Preconstruction planning
  • Constructability review
  • Prepare and maintain responsibility for CPM job schedule
  • Enforce safety procedures and participate in Safety Training Program
  • Assure work quality – set standards for quality control
  • Review all drawings, specifications and subcontractor submittals
  • Chair or attend pre-job conference, regular subcontractor meetings
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with owners, facility personnel, OSHPD personnel, subcontractors

Skills and Experience Requirements

  • Engineering, Construction Management or Architectural degree or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years experience preferred in the construction industry
  • Extensive field construction supervisory experience – 7 years as a superintendent preferred
  • Minimum 5 years experience in multifamily
  • Current Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) Certification, or achievement of STS Certification within six months of hire, maintenance of active certification status
  • Leadership and problem solving ability, with a strong sense of urgency
  • Working knowledge of all crafts (ability to read and understand specifications for all trades)
